The Master of Physical Education and Sports (MPES) is a two-year postgraduate professional degree programme offered by the School of Physical Education and Sports Sciences (SPESS), Mahatma Gandhi University. The programme is designed to prepare highly competent physical education professionals with advanced knowledge in sports sciences, teaching, coaching, sports administration, and research. It also aims to develop skilled professionals capable of serving as Physical Education teachers, Sports Administrators, Sports Science experts, Coaches, Trainers, and Fitness Professionals.
The duration of the MPES programme is two academic years consisting of four semesters. The programme is offered as a full-time residential and co-educational course. Students are normally required to complete the programme within two years; however, those with valid reasons may complete the programme within a maximum period of four years from the date of commencement of the first semester.
Candidates seeking admission to the MPES programme shall satisfy the following conditions:
Admission to the MPES programme shall be conducted in accordance with the rules and regulations of Mahatma Gandhi University applicable from time to time.
Eligible candidates shall apply through the University admission process as notified by the University. Admission shall be subject to fulfillment of the prescribed eligibility conditions, production of the required certificates including the Medical Fitness Certificate, and other norms issued by the University.
Reservation of seats and relaxation in eligibility, wherever applicable, shall be governed by the University and Government of Kerala regulations.
